Every agent on its own machine. Pay only while it runs.

An agent-hour is one task running for an hour in its own microVM with 2 vCPUs of compute. A task pauses after 15 idle minutes, even with your agent open, and paused time is free.

For scale: an always-on 2-vCPU cloud machine costs about $74 a month at AWS list price and runs one task at a time. MicroDev bills only running time.

Every task starts with 2 vCPUs of compute and 2 GiB. Capacity, including boosts, is subject to account and fleet limits. Physical hosts are shared.

What an agent-hour counts

You pay for the time a task runs, not the time it waits paused.

An agent-hour is one default task, 2 vCPUs of compute and 2 GiB, running for 60 minutes, including time spent waiting for tools or model responses. Paused time is not metered.

On a paid plan you can boost a running task up to 8 vCPUs and 16 GiB. While boosted it counts max(vcpus / 2, memory_mib / 2048) agent-hours per hour, the larger of its CPU and memory multiples: 4 vCPUs with 8 GiB counts 4, and the ceiling counts 8. It returns to the default shape when the boost ends.

  1. Agent edits code 30 min · metered
  2. Waiting on the model 15 min · metered
  3. Build and tests 25 min · metered
  4. Paused 50 min · not metered
  5. Resumed for review 20 min · metered
1.5 running hours 1 at 2 vCPUs, 2 GiB 1.5 agent-hours On Team this comes out of the 60 agent-hours each seat adds to the organization’s pool. Past the pool it would be $1.05.

The rules

Seats are pooled

Each seat adds its tasks at once and its included agent-hours to one pool for the whole organization. A person takes a seat when they first launch a paid task.

Upgrades

Review the exact additional charge before adding seats or moving up a plan. New capacity activates once payment is verified. Add seats any time on monthly and annual plans, once any scheduled change or cancellation is cleared and earlier upgrades are paid: you pay the prorated fee for the rest of the period and get a prorated share of that period’s included hours right away. Usage prices and per-seat hours stay the same until renewal. Switching between monthly and annual takes effect at renewal. Moving from Pay as you go to a seat plan takes effect at your next renewal, with nothing due now.

Cancelling

Seat reductions, plan changes down and cancellation take effect at the end of the paid period. Your current capacity stays available until then. If more people hold seats than the new count, release seats on the billing page before starting new work.

Not a spending cap

Usage past the included hours is billed after the period at your plan’s rate per agent-hour. There is no hard cap, and usage totals arrive after metering settles.

Minimum charge

A bill under $0.50 is rounded up to $0.50; a period with nothing to charge bills nothing. Prices are in US dollars.

Model usage

MicroDev runs your agent, builds and tools. The model runs with its provider on your own agent account, so model subscriptions and credits are billed there, separately.

Questions

Does the trial turn into a paid plan?

No. The trial collects no card and never upgrades or charges you on its own. A paid plan starts only when someone in your organization chooses one.

How is trial time counted?

Your 300 minutes are shared by all your trial tasks, up to 2 at once. A task uses them only while it runs, including time spent waiting on tools and models. Paused time is free, there is no limit per run, and an attempt that fails before it starts uses nothing. You can start up to 10 new tasks an hour; resuming a paused task doesn’t count against that (resumes have their own limit of 30 an hour).

What happens when the trial ends?

Running work is paused with the workspace preserved. New starts and resumes need a plan or pilot access. Trial work is kept for 30 days after the trial ends, so upgrade or copy your work before then.

What does the pause guarantee cover?

If a completed pause loses committed, uncommitted or untracked work in your workspace, that billing period’s subscription fee is credited against your next renewal (a month’s fee on monthly plans, the year’s on annual plans). It covers files saved to the workspace when a pause completes. Running processes stop, and files outside the workspace start fresh on resume, as the persistence contract says. Tell support. The credit covers the plan fee only, not usage above the allowance or seats added mid-period, applies once per billing period, and needs a subscription that renews. Pay as you go has no subscription fee, so it isn’t covered.

Does adding a seat add hours?

Yes. Every seat adds its tasks at once and its included agent-hours to the organization’s pool, so a larger team gets a larger allowance as well as more concurrency. A seat added mid-period, on a monthly or annual plan, is prorated: you pay the fee for the rest of the period and get the same share of that period’s included hours right away, then its full hours from renewal.

Is the included usage a spending cap?

No. Usage above the included agent-hours is billed after the period at the listed rate. The billing page is not a live spending meter.

When is Pay as you go the better choice?

When you run agents in bursts and some months not at all. It has no monthly fee and bills $1.25 per agent-hour. Past about 36 agent-hours a month, Pro costs less. Moving from Pay as you go to a seat plan takes effect at your next renewal, with nothing due now.

I upgraded while a trial task was running. Which limits apply?

A trial task that is already running keeps running on the trial. Pause and resume it to run on paid access.

Who can manage billing?

Owners, admins and billing members of the organization. Payment details stay on Stripe’s hosted pages and never pass through MicroDev.
